Our summer vacation is right around the corner. I love this time of the year. The beginning of August is usually when my husband and I like to take a vacation. It allows us to have a week or two away from home and then a week or two of summer left when we return.
This year we are headed up to Mackinaw Island. It is a very remote area in the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is actually pretty close to Canada. We decided to go there first of all because we had never been there before and second of all because the island is so historic that it looks exactly like it did back in the 1900′s. There are no cars, computers or cell phone usage on the island. We are traveling there for a week; I’ll keep you filled in on how it goes.
