What’s Old is New Again

At the gas station this morning I saw a display of “new” Pepsi cans. The unusual thing is that the “new” is because it is old. The new flavor is called “throwback” because they are using the old fashioned recipe that used real sugar instead of corn syrup.

So I bought a can to try it out – it is really good!

I wanted to find something new and sassy to wear with jeans. These new sandals are perfect! They have a high heel, which makes my legs look longer, and the colors are perfect to go with denim. the cutouts make the strap design very special. These sandals are at the top of my wish list.

Cup of Tea

Lately when I come home I am exhausted and need to relax for a few minutes. You know – just shift gears from hectic work then frustrating traffic and then home to fix dinner, do laundry, etc.

I found that a nice cup of hot tea is perfect for a couple of quiet minutes. I microwave a cup of water for 1 minute, add an herbal teabag, and 3 or 4 minutes later I am sitting on the front porch sipping my tea.

Great Week

This has been one of the most perfect weeks.  For one thing I had 3 days off from work in a row!  That never happens or at least not as far back as I can remember.  I was able to catch up with some friends, I went to the library and did a lot of reading, and worked-out everyday.  It has been so relaxing and wonderful.  I never realized how much I missed my downtime.  I thought I would end up bored and missing work, but that did not happen.  I guess I really needed a few days to myself.

One of my friends that I saw for lunch has been laid off from her job.  She was telling me how she was in need of this time off so bad that she didn’t even realize it.  The greatest blessing for her has been getting laid off although she was with the company for over 13 years.  She has been without a job for 2 months now and states it has been the greatest 2 months of her life.  Myabe we should all take more time off it seems like we all need it!

Good News

Yesterday I heard an incredible story on the news.  We are all struggling a little bit these days with debt and other financial issues.  One women in particular was going through her bills and didn’t know how she was going to pay them all.  Haven’t we all been there?  After her fear began to set in she decided to look in her drawer that held all her old lottery tickets.  She thought just maybe one of these was a winner and I overlooked it.  In fact that was the case she had a 10 month old lottery ticket in there worth $10 million dollars!  I am so happy for her I can’t believe someone could have overlooked something like this.  On top of that it would have expired in 2 months!  What an incredible story.
