Learning new things

  • Posted on May 23, 2011 at 8:55 am

My oldest son is teaching me about website hosting. I have to admit that its pretty interesting. I never thought I would use a computer, let alone owning one, writing blogs and doing all the other things that I do with a PC. It actually at this age, sort of blows my mind.

I decided that I needed to get my small business “off the ground” so to speak and to advertise a bit more to generate more income coming in. Times are rough all over and my family really needs the extra money at this time. The kids are growing up and their toys aren’t inexpensive toys anymore and their clothes are really expensive. My son told me to check out Web Hosting Hub for quick results with the least expensive prices, and showed me what it was all about.

I can get my business up and going much faster and easier with the web hosting features that are offered. Much faster than I could getting business cards, doing the PR work and with the less time spent on that, I could be doing more work on my business. It’s a great idea and not as difficult as I thought it would be.

Rapture

I’m not buying into it. I can not believe what I am seeing on the news and the internet, and even around the neighbor hood about this Rapture deal. In my opinion, no one can predict the time and date that we are going to be “judged” ans taken away to a better place. Nor can I understand how anyone can talk this so seriously. Yes, I believe that God is really angry at the world right now. Look at the weather, the people suffering, and all the strange things that can’t be explained through logical science…though they pretend to know…that is happening. BUT, I certainly don’t believe that the world is going to end at 6:00 this evening.

Time to get into the garden!

  • Posted on May 21, 2011 at 8:30 am

I woke up this morning really early to the sun shining full force. When I opened the front door and then the storm door, the heat hit me full force! It felt great and it was only 6:30 am. Of course it’s humid out, but at least the sun is shining and the weather guys say it’s to get into the high 80′s today. I’m happy. While drinking my coffee on the deck, I looked around and decided it’s time to start the gardens finally. I don’t think it’s going to frost again. I’m off to go get some plants I need and more seeds. Have a good one all, because I know I am. :)

School is nearly out

  • Posted on May 20, 2011 at 11:39 am

With school nearly out for the kids and grands, I’ve been kicking around going back to school myself. I know that I would have to space my time and also know that because of the gas prices and the traveling to and from school, it will cost too much so I keep looking into the best online colleges.

While looking at various sites to pick an affordable college, I was thinking this is the best way to go for kids now a days, considering the prices of gas, and the fact that they have to not only work, pay tuition if along with loans and all the other finances they will have. I am glad I am a stay at home mom that or I wouldn’t be able to afford to go back to school. I feel for the young adults these days. It’s a shame our world has come down to what it has. One of the sites I came across was Degreejungle.com, which is a wealth of information when it comes to finding a school.

Online college rankings are important and it’s something that should be checked out also while looking for a school. I have a feeling the more I look, the more it’s making up my mind that online schooling is the way to go and still be at home and have time with my family. Plus save money.

The asparagus is up!

My friend stopped last night and when I went to the door, he held out a bunch of asparagus like they were a bouquet of flowers. Bless his heart. He knows I love fresh asparagus and it grows in plenty at his farm, so he brought me the very first of the season. I was so happy. When I had a shop out at his farm, he would leave me a jar of Jiff peanut butter because he knew I’d go cut asparagus and eat it raw with the peanut butter. Yes I know, sounds terrible to most, but don’t knock it unless you’ve tried it! It tastes great to me!
