Shoes equal heaven

  • Posted on July 31, 2011 at 4:15 pm

I collect shoes. I know people can only wear one pair of shoes at a time, but I have one whole unit my husband built me to my specs, that hold my shoes. I have boots, sandals, work boots, shoes I’ve never worn…you get the picture. My problem is that I take a size anywhere between a three in children’s or even a 7 in women’s shoes, and it all depends on the style and fit. I am constantly now looking online for shoes that are unique and I can’t find around this area.

When we were first married, my husband was a bit “put out” about all of my shoes. I think most men are. They can’t understand why we women need so many shoes. It’s because we do. At least I do, and I believe it’s carried on to both of my daughters and even my oldest son. I did find a great place to get the Frye woman’s engineer boots, that I was looking for, as I needed some very durable boots to wear when riding my motorcycle. There are even more feminine styles then the classic guy style, which I like. Of course I let my fingers do more “look shopping” and then came across Miz Moon Heather Green Sandals. I wear a lot of green, so these are on my must have list.

What impressed me is the selection of styles and makes of the shoes. Everyone has to have at least one pair of red shoes or boots, in my opinion. You know… the Dorthy and Oz thing. ;) I have five, but went looking for more, of course. I also checked out Sebago shoes and though I can only limit myself to at the maximum two pair of shoes or boots every few months, I am indeed going to look more closely at these awesome shoes!

Outside the home job

I totally dread going back to my out of the home job tomorrow. I’ve been off for a month…health issues, and now I’m going back. I love my job, don’t get me wrong. It is just that during the past month I have started sorting, throwing away, and organizing things in my house and am not nearly finished. I’m afraid that it’s not going to be finished. Yes I indeed have a few kids and a husband, but to be honest and truthful, once I am not here, they think the job is done. Wrong. I’ll have to wait and see how this goes, as it is now also time to start with the little kids and the grand kids Halloween costumes and a lot of planning, but I can’t start dragging out all my material and sewing things until I have room to do so. This to me is a major drag and concern. :(

This goes to far

I watched a news clip on Tots in Tiaras and was totally disgusted. I don’t believe in subjecting children to this in the first place, but this has instilled my thoughts even more. The clip was about a 2 year old being spray tanned. Not only is that bad enough, but it was being done since she was 11 months old, buy a man who is an auto body painter. The mother goes on about how the little girl really likes it, and all through this clip she is crying and trying to get away. When she finally does make a run for it, she is running through the shop and slips and falls right on her knees in what looks perhaps like water, but in a shop, one can’t be sure. All the time the little one is yelling and screaming, “Leave me alone”. This to me is abuse. Okay, so it’s my opinion indeed. But I’m not going to change my views on this. Hopefully the clip will show so ya’ll see it for yourself. Shame on those people.

Boys and toys

In a previous post I mentioned about my boys needing more space for the stuff they collect and also the clothes they have, some of which I am sure they have not worn in eons but refuse to get rid of. I had thought about getting them lockers for storage space and to free up a lot of space in the bedroom. They work really well, I might add but I am looking for more. I found that indeed they do save space and things seem to be getting a tad more organized in their bedroom.

My youngest son wants a small locker for his personal “treasures” he has collected over the years, some of which I am really surprised he still has. It’s ideal for his little things and it will of course have a lock on it, so his finds are all safe and secure. It means a lot to him and he is the one that brought up the fact that this idea would save space too. Personally, I wish they had either their own room or a much bigger one, but with a bigger room, that would only mean more stuff they would collect.

The athletic lockers are perfect for all of his sports equipment. He is into wrestling, track and also BMX bike riding, among other sports, so this is also a perfect idea. I’m not saying the room is totally clutter free yet, but it’s starting to look a great deal better!

Too fast

To me, summer has gone too fast. Here it is, two days shy of July being over with. Where did the time go? This summer with the record breaking temperatures, I should have been happy with them since I hate the cold and snow so much, but in all honesty I was miserable. Guess in older age, my body just can’t handle it anymore.  It’s rather sad to me.
