Well, we got a tiny taste of rain last night and in the wee hours of the morning. It stormed and rain came down really hard there for awhile. Now it’s around 10:30 am and it’s going to be a sweltering day, so it seems. Sun is out, and the temps are climbing rapidly. I have to go into town for some things and I even dread getting into the truck to do so. Such is life though. We could use a steady four or five day rain, but I don’t see that happening any time soon.
A couple of my “babies”
A friend sent me seeds last year and I had planted them, but they didn’t come up. I had a surprise when they showed their faces this year!
Smiles for two kids
Well, it’s that time that I have to find a dentist for two of my kids. The dentist that they have had for years, was awesome. I’ve even gone to that office before and the receptionists, hygienists and even the billing clerk are so wonderful and understanding about my personal fear of going to the dentist. Of course the kids are really bummed out, since they love the one they have been going to, but he is retiring and I’ve never had a problem with his work on my kids. I had been really concerned, quite frankly what we were going to do.
My youngest son is going to need an orthodontist, and my daughter needs two wisdom teeth out. My son has two teeth that aren’t growing quite the right way they should and of course, we want them fixed.
I personally have always been terrified of dentists and I need, which I am embarressed to say quite a bit of dental work done also.
Of course we have to also find a dentist accepts our insurance, which sometimes can be a problem, and also one that is affordable with the services we will need. This normally isn’t easy, but I was told of a few options I have, which I’m now looking into. Hopefully, we’ll all be happy with the dentist and the orthodontist we find.
The county fair
The county fair is this week and I used to really enjoy going to fairs, but now the price is so high that I’m afraid we can’t afford it. My kids still want to go, but not to go on the rides or see the animals like they used to. They go to socialize. I’m paying about 25.00 a piece for the three of them to socialize with the friends that they see every day. This to me is just pure stupid and beyond my comprehension. Actually, I just did a quick add up in my head and it’s even more than the 25.00 if they want to get something to eat and drink. This is just for one day. I’m going to have to think about this really hard and have a talk with my husband. It’s the middle of the week and we both get paid on Fridays. Today I have to get groceries, and tomorrow I have a doctor’s appointment, prescriptions to get and some other bills that need paid. Fairs used to be so fun. Now it’s a big rip off.
Grocery shopping
I’ve been putting it off long enough. I’ve depleted my freezer meat and have run out of ideas about what to cook, so I have to go to the dreaded grocery store. I honestly don’t know many people, except maybe my mom, who like to grocery shop. I hate it more than most though. When ever I ask my family what they want for supper, generally they tell me either “free for all” meaning, they will get what they want, of tacos. I don’t like tacos but they could eat tacos and pizza everyday. I supposed I could justify this as food, considering both have in it’s own way all the basic food groups, but that is not my way of thinking. In a little while, armed with my list and some coupons I actually clipped (if I remember them…something I rarely do) I’m off to the grocery store. Ohhh Joy.
