Charlie Brown Pumpkin news

  • Posted on August 31, 2011 at 4:10 pm

I have to laugh… on a great long vine, with loads of beautiful blossoms, only one pumpkin, the size of a foot ball has  emerged.  Some people laugh, but to me it is beautiful! It is already orange and no doubt ready to pick, but I think I will keep it on it’s vine longer. I might hang it up on pumpkins next year, but I know I want to see what my squash will do!! :)

My Angel

Well, it’s been a long time in coming and until recently my dog Angel has been alert, active and happy, but she is allergic to darn near everything including grass,  and also has had tumors that were not positive for cancer, and we were told for each one it would cost at least 3, ooo. oo to remove and for the aftercare, no doubt more. With the kid’s and my medical bills, we just can’t afford it. Vet after vet were visited…same story. Then back to our regular vet we have  had for years. Over the last three weeks, the tumors in her nipples and stomach area have grown at an incredible rate of speed. It’s sad for me and of course her. She knows. But I am always there with them, hold them and take my family members home for a proper burial. At least she will be in peace. Sorry for the downer news, but blogs are for sharing things in one’s life, and well…I just needed to write.

Safty and peace of mind

I hardly ever go out into my husbands garage. That is his domain. Actually, I think that is where his hoarding tendencies start coming out. He is a certified Harley Davidson mechanic and has literally thousands of parts, but after I went into that garage, I decided that he needs flammable cabinets. It scared me when I was out rummaging around for a simple screw driver, and some clay pots I thought I had out there, to see that there are some flammable cans ans items like that, that really should be put into flammable lockers so that there won’t be a fire.

We have kids and grand kids also, who have their dirt bikes, mini bikes and bicycles in the garage, and I believe that flammable cabinet storage is the safest way to keep the items that could catch on fire, or that are even hazardous out of reach if there isn’t adult supervision in the garage. There have been some break in’s in the neighbor hood, especially in people’s garages, and it would be very easy for who ever is doing this, to start a fire to “cover their tracks” and that too scares me.

I know I would feel a lot safer and not have to worry about flammable items and also fires, if these were all locked up. Also, with protection like this, and storage, it might make the garage neater.

Irene’s wrath

My prayers are going out to everyone and their family’s who were in the path of this hurricane. The destruction was and still is, very scary. We are getting some left over rain, but living where we do, we are fortunate.

In hiding

Well, its been peaceful while it’s lasted! My “little” brother came in from Germany as he is in the Air Force and we had a nice quiet time last night. He will only be here for a few days so the rest of the clan are arriving. I’m sort of hiding up in my bedroom. Not to be anti social, but because right now at this point of my life, I can’t really handle the chaos. My husband and kids won’t be here until later on, and of course I pop downstairs to say hi to the family, and find out the “scoop” on what is happening in their lives, but I’ve never been one for the commotion.
