Proud Mom

  • Posted on September 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm

My youngest daughter is a senor in high school this year. For the last six years she has been in the school’s choir and for the last four years has sung the National Anthem at the school’s homecoming game. It’s going to be a bit bitter sweet this year though, since it will be her last year of singing it at school. The bummer of it is that is is very cold, windy and it’s raining like heck wouldn’t have it. It’s not supposed to let up tonight either…just get lots colder. Hopefully the girls in the choir are allowed to wear their coats under the robes, or my daughter just may get a worse cold than what she already has. I am so proud of her though and indeed will go to see and hear her sing, even though I will be leaving right after she does. I’m not the slightest bit into football, but hearing her sing is a joy!!

Turn up the heat

It’s official, I’m coming down with a cold and I think I got it from my daughter. :( It’s the kind complete with chills and aches. To get the chill out of the air and to warm it up for us in the house, because of the rainy and cold weather I finally had to break down and turn on the furnace. Yep, change of weather time, and winter is on it’s way.

A perfect garden addition

I needed one last addition to my garden and racked my brain on exactly what I wanted until I came up with the idea of getting a arbor! As everyone in my family knows I’ve been in next year’s garden planing mode for months now. I’ve decided to use the acre of land in the back yard that none of the kids use anymore as they are nearly grown. My husband only mows it and takes care of our dear lost pet’s cemetery that is way near the field. So the yard is useless space so to speak…but it won’t be by the middle of next summer!

I have looked a may garden arbors and have come up with what I believe is going to be something unique and different for a garden. I’m going to make sort of a labyrinth out of my straw bale gardening, and hedges, flowers, vegetables and herbs leading to a couple wooden arbors. One with a swing and the other that will have a small table and some comfy out door chairs under it. I see it all in my head now, and have been doing some sketches of what I want.

Next comes my lists and shopping! I am enjoying this so much and can’t wait until I’m finished so I can take photos. I’ve even thought about adding tiny white lights through out the whole garden and wrapped in the arbors so it looks even prettier. I’m really excited about this!

Headway on the gardens

My gardens are nearly ready for their winter sleep, and I’ve been making plans for next Spring. Some of the ideas I’ve mumbled out loud to my husband, who just looks at me in this sort odd and “what ever you want, dear” way, then pats me on the head and goes on about his business. I hate being patted on the head, but being only 4’10″ I guess I’m a prime target. Oh well, the plans are coming together and though they may be different to some people, it’s my yard and if I’m happy with it, well…that is what counts!! :)

Strange dreams

  • Posted on September 24, 2011 at 8:33 am

I don’t know if it was what I ate before bed last night, or what caused it, but normally I of course have dreams,  yet not as strange as the ones that I was having last night. I even would wake up knowing I was dreaming, then drift off and the dream would just continue. Some were jumbled and some I can’t remember. I have a book that is pretty accurate in interpreting dreams and I’m going to look up what I do remember. Also, I should stop eating munchies before I go to bed!
