The last of the corn is harvested

  • Posted on November 21, 2011 at 6:35 pm

The last field of corn has been harvested and was taken to the mill today. We did save about 12 rows by the forest for the deer to feed on, like we do every year and also took out barrels of deer apples to fill the troughs with. I’ve always insisted on doing this for the little “Bambies” that make it through deer hunting season. Even though the woods are private property, we still get trespassers and poachers coming onto the land, despite of it having no trespassing and no hunting signs posted. It ticks me off because I’ve nearly gotten shot twice while hunting herbs and mushrooms, even though it wasn’t animal hunting season. At least the corn is out and stored or sold now, before it snowed heavy.

Small Thanksgiving

  • Posted on November 19, 2011 at 6:01 pm

Thanksgiving isn’t going to be a big deal like it has been every other year and it makes me rather sad. I love the preparing and cooking for two days to have it all over with in about 45 min. tops, even though I used to complain about it a bit. My kids are growing up and it’s hit me full force. The oldest will be going to her husband’s family’s. My oldest son is going up North with his best buddy and my youngest son is going to his girlfriend’s aunt’s house. That leaves my youngest daughter, my husband and myself, since my mom will be going to my sisters. It’s too far for us to drive there unless we rented a hotel. So, I’m wondering if I should even cook this year.

Accurate court reporting

I was told that there are Court Reporting Services that a person can hire to basically record all of what is said and what goes on in a court room. It’s an accurate account of what is happening so it is all on paper,  one needs it as a case goes on. If it’s a lengthy case, or if it is a case that gets confusing to a lay person, at least there is a service that will have a report and record of what has gone on and then facts can be brought up, that normally in some cases a person would forget what actually had been said.

I think the deposition services are a good idea. Making sure that everything goes smoothly and also saves a person time and money and the hassle of getting all the information by themselves. I would love to have this service for my daughter, who is in the middle of a very big and also nasty divorce. It wouldn’t be needed, but her husband owns a very large corporation and they have been married for 20 years. My daughter needs to know what is happening and legal terms. More so than her lawyer is helping with at this time.

I hope I never have to use a court reporting service, but it is nice to know that this service exists, and it’s a professional and accurate service.

Getting a slow start

Odd dreams always make me wonder what they mean. I had some strange, but almost real dreams during the wee hours of the morning. I have a book on interpreting dreams. It’s old, but very accurate, so I’ll figure out about what they mean later. For now, I got a late start this morning and have so much to do, that I feel like going back to sleep and finish my dreams.

Happy Birthday to my “Baby”

  • Posted on November 18, 2011 at 9:09 am

My youngest son is 15 today. Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday I was delivering him. Yes, I did deliver him myself in the back of the ambulance at the end of our road. None of the EMTS  (and there were 7 of them) had ever delivered a child. None of them had the slightest cue about what they were doing. I should have just stayed home and had him there. No one even checked the time of his birth. Which makes writing his horoscope chart not accurate. But all said and done, my “Baby” is growing up fast.
