Finally we got rain! I think everyone in this area was outside standing in it and enjoying the breeze it brought with it. It’s said we got 2.5 in. of rain here, but I honestly don’t think it was really that much. I had my rain meter out on a stump in the back yard, but I suppose a cat or other animal must have knocked it over, since when I went to check it, it was on the ground.
The rain didn’t do much for anyone’s grass or gardens though, sad to say. Everything still looks dead and if it’s not dead, only a slight layer of dust was washed away. It’s sad, but I’ve heard other states are having much worse of a drought than we are, and it is indeed bad here.
I have to admit that it was wonderful sleeping last night when the rain started. I actually had to use a blanket and cover up, since I got a bit chilly. Today wasn’t bad either. Much better than 105 degrees in the shade.
