I can not for the life of me find jeans to fit. I like the straight leg style, but they only carry sizes that skip a number. For instance, sizes, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and so on. I happen to take a six junior. The fives are to small and the sevens are too big. I’ve had this problem all of my life. I now weight about 108 lbs, and I’m 4’11″ shrinking in older age also. Finding nice jeans that I don’t have to roll up, is a mega problem. Cutting them off and hemming, looks funny to me. This is why I like the skinny jeans, with the tightness around the ankle. They sort of bunch up and fit me. Shopping today was a waste of time, so perhaps I’ll go again tomorrow. Or, maybe I’ll either gain some weight, or loose some weight so I will fit in either a 5 or 7!

What a time for our furnace to take a dive. I’ve called all different appliance/furnace guys and most are closing in a few minutes. We all have colds and no heat. Not good. My neighbor is coming to save the day. I cook for him, and since my husband works third shift, our neighbor take care of things if need be. To be honest, I guess I wasn’t thinking clearly due to really not feeling well and I didn’t remember my friend and neighbor Larry is a handy man and jack of all trades, not to mention a farmer. I had to go to the little store/gas station here and told one of my friends what was going on. He said he didn’t know anything about furnaces, but offered propane for the heater we have. I really don’t like using it, as they scare me, so I thanked him anyway and came home. I wasn’t in the door ten minutes and my neighbor Larry called to tell me he was coming down. The mutual friend of our that I talked to at the store apparently called Larry and told him what was going on here. We are fortunate living here and having good friends and neighbors.

My girlfriend Amy just moved to Cincinnati and needed a Cincinnati Attorney, to keep her affairs in order, and also go over the fine print on her contracts, will and any other legal issues. Since she moved there because of her job, she still doesn’t know very many people and was getting fairly exasperated talking to the people in her office, all of whom tried to be helpful, but also all had various “lawyer stories” to tell her. She is still keeping her lawyer up here, as she has her house leased out and he keeps an eye on her holdings here. When she came back for the holidays, she contacted her lawyer here, and asked her if she could recommend a good +1 Cincinnati Lawyer. Within a few days, she got the names of lawyers who were really fair and good at what they do. When she went back to Cincinnati she talked to four of the reccomended lawyers and now is really happy with the one she hired. In fact, she is more than happy. When she called me, she had a glowing report to tell me. Out of all the attorneys that she spoke with, she found that they were all qualified for her needs, but certain ones she didn’t “click” with. And one man only specialized in being a Cincinnati DUI Attorney. Since she doesn’t drink and never has, she of course didn’t need him. Still, she told me just in case anyone ever would ask her if she knew of one, she would give the person this lawyers name.

My daughter and I are going to spend the weekend with my Mom in a little while. I love going “home” because it’s a chance to see my Mom and also have my daughter spend time with her Nana. It’s really relaxing there, and my daughter and I have the whole upper floor of the house, which is HUGH to ramble around in. Down in the basement I have an antique work bench I usually sort my garden seeds for Mom’s yards and also my woodworking hobbies. The cool thing about this workbench is I discovered even secret drawers in side of drawers. I’ve often wondered what kind of secrets were hidden in them. My daughter and I like to help Mom around the house. She is getting up there in age and really appreciates the help. The great thing is, she is an awesome cook and cooks all kinds of great Hungarian food for us, along with her twists on other wonderful foods. Yep, I’m looking forward to going home.

Contributed by Vickie Tyson I have directv at home and I’ve been watching a lot of home improvement shows. I love that there are so many great programs on décor and redoing the backyard and everything like that because I’ve got this new house and I really want it to look good. Since I moved here I’ve been all about making this home somewhere I can be proud of, it is my first house afterall! I am so thankful the down real estate market has finally afforded me the possibility to buy a home that I can call my own. I love being a homeowner and though it’s a lot of responsibility I am really proud of myself for already making this place so great on the inside and I’m planning on having a housewarming party relatively soon to show off my work. My friends are impressed because I’m the first one of us to buy a home and you know, that feels good. It makes me feel like I’m happy I’ve done this well for myself by this young age.

Kicker is, I just got this one last year. It kind of ticks me off that even the sound only works some of the time. My son thinks it’s a loose wire. If he can’t fix the problem with this laptop, I’ll have to get another one, which so soon after Christmas, is going to really drain my savings. If I do have to get a new one though, I’m going to do some homework before I buy one. I want a good one and yet one that isn’t as pricey as the one I have. Knowing what I’m buying will help, and maybe I’ll learn a thing or two on the way. I work on the computer, so a laptop is a must for me since I go out of town every other week.

I’ve wanted new carpet in my office/sewing room for a long time. Everyone says it would be a bad idea because of pins, needles and such. I rarely drop them, and if so have a BIG magnet to pick them up. I went to the carpet outlet store this morning, to look at various carpets, and a lady there suggested that I use indoor/outdoor carpet for this room. She sews also and since her floors get really cold, she wanted carpet in her sewing room. I saw all sort of colors and styles, but am not sure which one I would like. The plus of this carpet is, that I’ll be saving a great deal of money. It is much less expensive than other types. Even a remnant will fit this room. I’m going to think about it, and then think also about a new paint job for the walls. I need to cheer it up in here.

My youngest daughter is going to graduate from high school and wants to go to collage, so my husband and I have been looking into financial aid information, since we can’t afford the tuition, books and everything she will need on our own. She plans on going to Beauty Collage, but then also wants to take some other courses in finance and business management also. She indeed has her priorities straight and I am so very proud of her. Like her father, she is left handed. I didn’t know that there are scholarships and financial aid for left handed students. Her counselor at school never told us this. Maybe she doesn’t know, but one would think that a counselor would know about various scholarships and about financial aid, as we were told this was part of her job. There is however a seminar that my husband and I are going to attend that will give us a lot more information than the counselor has been. Right now my daughter is not only going to school during the day, but also she has night school three times a week, so her grades improve. Perhaps she can get a scholarship but we will still be needing to look into more financial aid information for her. With the economic times like they are, we are going to need a lot of help. My husband has a good job, but my medical bills just keep piling up and it seems that getting ahead is going to take more time, if we even can.

Perhaps she can get a scholarship but we will still be needing to look into more financial aid information for her. With the economic times like they are, we are going to need a lot of help. My husband has a good job, but my medical bills just keep piling up and it seems that getting ahead is going to take more time, if we even can.

I don’t know if it’s the way the weather has been, since it’s been icy and snowing most days lately, but two of my friends have had mailboxes also damaged. One of my blogging buddies, Connie had hers hit about the same time I had mine wiped out. My other friend who lives in town had his torn off his house while he was out of State on business. I’ve gotten a replacement, but I don’t really like it. Still, it will have to do until at least Spring. The ground is too frozen now to put in another post. I wish people would drive more carefully down this road, and slow their speed down to what it is supposed to me on this road also. This keeps costing me money and I can’t move our mail box any further from the road.
