I’m not a great fan of television, but tonight I did watch some reality shows my friend Lindsay recommend. Fashion Runway was one since I have an interest in sewing, just like she does. Okay, I’m hooked on this one. I have to laugh about it a bit, since I missed lots of episodes. I’m sure though, there will be reruns that I can watch. That silly woman gets me hooked on the strangest things. LOL!
Party time
My kids came to me last night and asked if they could have a small Halloween party this year. It seems the party supply store in our town where I used to get things I needed for our gatherings and parties moved to another place, so I told the kids that I would think about it, if I could find the items we will need at a reasonable price, and I don’t have to drive all over going from store to store to get the decorations and other things that will make up the party.
They assured me that they didn’t want anything really fancy, but I tend to get carried away. After all, Halloween used to be my favorite holiday and I like to at least make it nice for the kids, even if they are little anymore. I still have the grand kids who no doubt would also be there, so I thought the best thing for me to do, is go on line and look for another party supply store where I could get what I wanted for this party.
Sure enough online I found the perfect party supply store for all occasions and themes, and everything is delivered safely and on time. This will save me a lot of running around and stress, and the kids can have the party that they want.
Gifts from the farm
My friend Larry stopped by last night. I couldn’t figure out why he had backed up to my front porch, until he began hauling out corn stalks, pumpkins, various squash and gourds, and even baling twine. All this bounty was to get me into the mood to start decorating the porch for Halloween! It was so sweet of him to do this. I haven’t really been in the spirit of it all, like I used to be, and him bringing all of this over has gotten me now wanting to decorate. Tomorrow night I’ll take supper down to him as a thank you.
Health plans for older people
I had a very long conversation with my favorite aunt about medicare plans, yesterday. I’m not sure how I can write this with out getting all political, but I do have to say that I am rather frightened about getting older and having to make plans for my coverage. I’m not in the greatest health and haven’t been for the last two years. Before that, I was in great shape but when my health started to decline. After talking to my aunt, I’ve started to worry about health insurance and what will happen when I get a bit older.
My aunt has gotten on the internet an has been browsing various sites to find the right plans that fit her needs. She is covering herself, just in case the need arises, since she is now over 65 yrs. of age, and lets face it, I’m sure it is a concern for her. Prescriptions she needs are very expensive and it helps to have reliable coverage. There are conditions she has that indeed need to be taken into consideration while she is making her plans.
In a way, I’m glad Auntie is looking into all this for herself, as she can then tell me about it, since it does get confusing for me. My husband takes care of our insurance so far, but heaven forbid if anything happened to him, I need to know how to make plans for coverage on my health. I’m happy to know there are guides out there that can help and inform older people.
Happy Thanksgiving to Canada
I wanted to take a minute to wish all of my Canadian friends a very Happy Thanksgiving! My special friend Maxine (Maxie) in particular. She loves Thanksgiving since all of her HUGH family get together and have a wonderful time. Plus the wine flows and the food is awesome. I love to see the photos she posts for me after the day is over. She has a very loving family and it shows.
