Learning new things

  • Posted on May 23, 2011 at 8:55 am

My oldest son is teaching me about website hosting. I have to admit that its pretty interesting. I never thought I would use a computer, let alone owning one, writing blogs and doing all the other things that I do with a PC. It actually at this age, sort of blows my mind.

I decided that I needed to get my small business “off the ground” so to speak and to advertise a bit more to generate more income coming in. Times are rough all over and my family really needs the extra money at this time. The kids are growing up and their toys aren’t inexpensive toys anymore and their clothes are really expensive. My son told me to check out Web Hosting Hub for quick results with the least expensive prices, and showed me what it was all about.

I can get my business up and going much faster and easier with the web hosting features that are offered. Much faster than I could getting business cards, doing the PR work and with the less time spent on that, I could be doing more work on my business. It’s a great idea and not as difficult as I thought it would be.

Dealing with credit

I’ve been using the internet to look up reputable businesses who help repair credit. It isn’t for me, but for my oldest daughter, who’s husband has put the family into debt due to credit cards and buying over priced items that they no way could feasibly afford. My daughter didn’t have credit, in the first place, but at least she didn’t have bad credit. Now, as this punks wife (and yes, I call him a punk because I can’t use words I really want to in my blog), she is now in debt also. One of the credit places I have been checking out, is The Credit People. Now mind you, my husband went through a business for repairing credit a few years ago, and it was all a scam that nearly put us into bankruptcy, so I am very leery about these businesses. One can’t be too careful, I have learned.

Every time I see an add or a commercial that says, Repair Your Bad Credit, red flags go up and then warning bells go off. So, indeed it is imperative that one does their homework and really checks into the information, ask questions, and get answers that are correct and accurate. Of course there are indeed some credit repair businesses that want to help. The trick is, finding one that is sincere and who you can trust.

I can’t stress enough when choosing a credit repair service, to really be choosy and careful. Ask questions. Find out exactly how reputable the service is. My husband never did these things. It made me physically ill when I found out after a year what was going on, as he never had told me. He thought he was doing something good and helpful for the family, and then found that the service he used was bogus. It all was a scam. The services I have mentioned, seem quite reputable and of course, my daughter has got to do the calling, ask the questions and make up her own mind. But at least I’m trying to help in any way that I can.

Herbal nutrition

I usually don’t blog about products that I don’t care for or haven’t tried myself. I mean, how could I honestly talk of something if I know not a thing about them. In this case, I’m going to, because years ago I used to be an Herbalife distributor for awhile and only stopped because I unexpectedly got pregnant and my child had a lot of medical problems so all my time, of course went to him and getting him well, doctor’s appointments, surgeries and loads of worry. I couldn’t do my job as I should have and so I stopped, since in my book my children will always come first.

Herbalife today has gotten to be a much larger corporation and much more advanced than when I was into it. A friend of mine has an actual company of her own now in Ohio and it has literally changed her life around. She is knowledgeable in nutrition and so very helpful to so many people. I’ve known her for years, and just by using this product, taking the courses and going to seminars and then having her business, she has blossomed. Both physically, and emotionally, but also she is actually smiling again and just beautiful inside and out. She has confidence. Something she never ever used to have. She interacts with other Herbalife distributors, and also has so much confidence in doing so. I’m happy for her.

A person interested can find Herbalife online and it right there are your fingertips. It’s healthy, not harmful and the range of products available is outstanding. I’d love to get back into it once things are settled down around here. It’s well worth it. My friend Cheryl is living proof!

Got a new printer

  • Posted on April 30, 2011 at 10:41 am

I got a Kodak printer and I really like it. It did come with two Kodak ink cartridges, one color and one black. I thought that was a good deal along with the price I paid for the printer. I needed another printer anyway.

As much as I hated to retire my old one, it had started miss printing and ink was difficult to find for it. Not to mention pricier than most ink cartridges that are now available. Looking at various new printers, I had also been considering the price of the ink I would have to use in it. I kept going back to the printers that took Kodak ink, because even online it was less costly than some of the others, and being into photography most all of my life, I have always trusted Kodak film. Why shouldn’t I trust Kodak ink also?

When I got my printer home and used it for the first time, with the Kodak printer ink, I wasn’t disappointed. Not at all. Crisp clear and what I would expect from the Kodak company. Now I’m printing off everything I can get my hand on…lol!

Finding a home

  • Posted on April 21, 2011 at 5:14 pm

I really don’t know how I feel about this subject, except my daughter is trying to find a place to live because her husband is a butt and abusive, and she needs to get out. She talked to my brother and he told her about checking into some Real Estate Owned Foreclosures. I think she is going to try this, though because of limited funds, being a mother of two children and trying to start all over again, it’s really hard.  I feel for her, but also feel sorry for the people who lost their homes.

She’s been on the net looking for homes and into free foreclosures that are offered. The placed she is looking,  is a free service and from what I have seen, indeed the homes are nice, and also very inexpensive. Looking into what these people can do for her seems really worthwhile. Much better than renting because of the price of renting compared to the price of  buying one of the homes that are available in the long run, are much less expensive.  I just feel kind of bad because some of the people who lost their homes…what they did after they lost their home and where did they go? I mean, I see some people falsely using the systems and living off us, because I know of quite a few who do, and basically, are just out for what they need and want yet, won’t work. But what about those who really tried to “make it” and just couldn’t?

My kid has had at least enough business sense to look into free services and free REO foreclosures. That at least takes my mind off of the things that I fret about, and at least she works her butt off and will take care of a place very, very well. She is an exceptional home keeper, and makes sure everything is kept up. I do wish her luck and wish I could help her more, but with medical bills and my other bills, I can’t. Maybe going this route may. So… it’s worth a shot. I just hope she doesn’t move far away, but the site shows a map and it seems this is the way most people HAVE to get a home now. I hate this economy and it’s just going to get worse. I am thinking this may be her best way to go. I really hope so, I have a good feeling about it and another good thing, is that she can get out of a very bad situation.
