My grand daughter’s birthday is coming up and all she asked for was these fire balls. Bless her heart…it doesn’t take much to make her happy. I went up to the small store here in our little town and since I know the owner well, asked him if he would order a case of them. He did and only charged me his cost. He allowed me to save a great deal of money. I’m still going to buy my grand daughter something else, of course. I know though, she will be really thrilled with these.
A new laptop
I need a new laptop if my son can’t fix the one that I have. It lags and skips for some reason when I try to catch the news, or watch a movie on it. Kicker is, I just got this one last year. It kind of ticks me off that even the sound only works some of the time. My son thinks it’s a loose wire.
If he can’t fix the problem with this laptop, I’ll have to get another one, which so soon after Christmas, is going to really drain my savings.
If I do have to get a new one though, I’m going to do some homework before I buy one. I want a good one and yet one that isn’t as pricey as the one I have. Knowing what I’m buying will help, and maybe I’ll learn a thing or two on the way. I work on the computer, so a laptop is a must for me since I go out of town every other week.
Deciding on new carpet
I’ve wanted new carpet in my office/sewing room for a long time. Everyone says it would be a bad idea because of pins, needles and such. I rarely drop them, and if so have a BIG magnet to pick them up.
I went to the carpet outlet store this morning, to look at various carpets, and a lady there suggested that I use indoor/outdoor carpet for this room. She sews also and since her floors get really cold, she wanted carpet in her sewing room. I saw all sort of colors and styles, but am not sure which one I would like. The plus of this carpet is, that I’ll be saving a great deal of money. It is much less expensive than other types. Even a remnant will fit this room.
I’m going to think about it, and then think also about a new paint job for the walls. I need to cheer it up in here.
Lawn tools
The Sears store that is in the mall in the town next to ours, is going out of business. I think most of the stores in the mall have or are going to close soon. It’s a shame, because there were some really great stores there over the years.
I went to Sears and there was a sale on all the lawn tools. I was in heaven. Everything was marked at really low discount prices. These are some good tools too, and before this I didn’t have the money to spend on them. Gardening isn’t just a hobby to me, it also brings in a small income. Not much, but every little bit helps.
My lawn tools are really important to me. I’m known to treat them like my “babies”, since I’m pretty protective of them. I have a feeling it’s going to get worse, now that I have saved a great deal of money buying these tools, and want to make them last a good long while. I obviously couldn’t get the warranty Sears offered before, so I’m going to take care of them, and as selfish as it seems, I’m not going to lend them out to anyone.
Shopping for a new camera
Lately I have been looking at various cameras. I need a new one, but there are so many to choose from, that I’m not sure exactly what brand and make I want.
I personally hate buying a camera without trying it out first, but that of course is impossible at most stores I’ve gone to.
I’ve always disliked digital cameras because to me, there is a slight hesitation before a photo is taken, at least in my opinion. The kids ruined two of my cameras and now I’m having a hard time deciding what I want, that will suit me.
