By growing up with my Nana and Papa in my life nearly every week, or for weeks on end in the summer, at a young age, I learned the difference in custom made suits and the suits that were, “off the rack” so to speak. I have to be honest and say that in my opinion, custom made suits for any occasion that calls for a man to wear a suit, looks so much better. They may be more expensive, but they are indeed worth it. My Papa always wore them. He was a giving man and would take the shirt off his back to give it to someone in need, and his suits were the only vanity he ever showed, though he only wore them on special occasions. My Papa always got his suits from LS Mens Clothing Custom Suits, for as long as I can remember. I know that this mens shop has been in business for longer than I was born, and I’m a bit over 50. This says a lot about the suits these people make and what kind of quality they have. Looking at their site that this business has, is impressive. It is elegant and classy, not flashy and commercial. I like it, and love to look at the various styles of suits and tuxedos. Definitely one of my Raves!

If you know some mothers who are nuts about yoga, then you can easily find gift items to put in Mother’s Day gift baskets for them. The gift items that you will give them will help them on their journey to good balance and peace. These gifts are always appreciated. Candles are the first things that you can think about when it comes to relaxation, which yoga is all about. Those who want to meditate will frequently do such act by focusing on an open fire. Thus, a candle or set of candles is a perfect item in a gift basket. Also, those scented candles that have the scent of nature can help them get in the mood for meditation. You can also include yoga DVDs in the gift basket. A holistic yogi can never get enough yoga. They can get additional yoga techniques or styles in yoga DVDs. Yoga DVDs can be used at home at any time of the day because they are a complete yoga exercise presented by expert and experienced teachers. When you think of yoga, the very first thing that gets into your mind is a person sitting. Yogis use mats when they do the exercises or meditations. There is a wide range of mats that you can buy for your mom. You can go to a sports store or visit sites like Amazon in order to find a right mat for your mom. It is very important to read reviews about a particular mat, so you will have an idea on the quality and effectiveness of the mat. You can also include a small planner for your mom. There are planners that have subject in them. Hence, choose a planner that has a yoga oriented subject, such as water or nature. These are peaceful subjects to the mind of your mom. You can also try to include a book that covers the greatest respect in yoga. Mother’s Day gift baskets for yoga lovers are very easy to make. You just need to have the right items to put in the basket. It is very seldom that you can find a premade gift basket for yogis, so you have to get all the right items and make the gift basket on your own. Your mom will truly be happy to get a gift basket on Mother’s Day that is filled with items that she needs in her yoga exercises.

After this weekend, yard sales, garage sales and barn sales will begin here. I’ve been checking out other states at a site were they cover all the big sales, all over the states. There are mega sales, that sometimes the whole town participates in. My daughters and sons are sale pros. I taught them. Actually, until they got into the high teens, they weren’t into these sales at all and would sit in the truck or just stay home if I went anywhere, since they knew I would stop at yard and garage sales if there were any, on the way to were I was going. It is really cool now that the kids are grown. They jump at the chance to even drive me, since I can’t drive because of a back injury. Or at least I don’t like to, since it is painful. So, I have drivers! The great part is that when we go out of state, we plan on renting a hotel room and stay there while we garage sale. It’s a way to spend time with my kids and have fun at the sales. We actually check out online sites that tell what the certain sales have to offer and try to get there before they are even open, unless stated otherwise. That way we can most all the time, what we are looking for, from checking on the internet sites. What I love are the actions that we go to. I wish I had a bigger truck on those occasions. Of course we check it out what they have in the ones that are in various states. I’ve gotten some butt kicking antiques that way. Sometimes we find whole bedroom suits that we need to store and get a few trucks together to make the trip back to get what we bought. I always get really excited when warmer weather comes and then when the kids get out of school, or can get a break, we spend lots of fun and also get all kinds of treasures. I’m glad that they now like sales. Who doesn’t with the economy as it is and money matters being what they are. It really helps out a great deal going to these sales and auctions. It’s like a hobby for the family to do together.

Because my son in law has a job that takes him basically all over, he has storage units in quite a few states. He now needs some storage units in Florida and called my daughter to tell her about some Tampa self storage units he is planning to rent for his personal tools and items he will need for his business while there, doing some of the jobs he has lined up. Since he has his workers spread out all over the US, he has to rent units in various states for the tools and also the equipment they need. He even has units for the heavy equipment, which I didn’t even know units that big existed. My daughter told me he had his Texas crew just rent some Houston storage since they will be starting some big jobs, building two HUGH apartment complexes and it should take them most of the summer. I personally rented some Orlando storage a year or so ago, while I was in that area. I do a lot of flea market shopping, as well as garage sales and barn sales. Every now and then I will go to antique shops and find great deals at most all of them there. It’s much better shopping down in Florida, because of the weather and the fact that there are much more sales to be had. Here we have to wait for Spring and Summer, and it makes me antsy waiting that long. The storage units are great to have, and also affordable, until I can have my boys go down with our big truck and load, then haul my treasures back home for me! It also saves my son in law lots of money, since his units are insured.

My oldest daughter and her family are moving into a beautiful home in a month. My grand daughter wanted me to be, ” in charge ” of making her room into one that fit her personality, which included ideas for some awesome Girls Bunk Beds. Of course, KK asking me to redo her room, is very special for me. She and I have a rapport that most Grandmothers and grand children don’t have. It’s a tight bond that I am proud of. I’m not even the kind of ” Nana ” that spoils kids. I’m just…me. After my daughter took me to see the house, and my KK took me up to her room, I automatically thought about a site I had come across that was called, ” Bunk Beds AtoZ. “ I figured if I couldn’t find a bed KK would love there, then there wasn’t one to made that would satisfy this kid! When I saw the various bunk beds, I knew exactly which one I wanted to buy and one that my grand daughter would go for also. She needed storage that would save space, plus the bed would have to look great. She’s not into the girly girl stuff, so this bed would be perfect. Sure enough, when KK looked at the various girls bunk beds, she picked out the one I wanted to buy for her, without knowing it was also my choice. Already my mind is thinking about sheets, a comforter, curtains, and throw rugs. I’m in my, element! This was our choice of a bunk bed, but we indeed will paint it in her colors and it will look like a 10 or so year old, girls bed…with room to get older. She can have two friends over, who will all have a place to sleep. I’ll bet KK calls the top though!

I have finally found a place where I can buy chocolate for any occasion and it’s made me a very happy person. Sometimes it’s hard to please everyone in my family, since their favorite chocolates are all different. And I have a big family. One year, I decided to write a list of everyone’s favorite flavor in chocolates. I must admit I had a very impressive list. Over the last few years, for various occasions and holidays, I just buy chocolate. My family are all chocolate lovers, sometimes I think more so than most. My mom loves chocolate covered cherries, for Christmas. My sisters and brothers are into everything from hazelnut, to milk chocolate. It is the same with my kids. My oldest daughter as well as myself, love mint chocolate. My oldest son, peanut butter chocolate, youngest daughter and son, dark and mild chocolate, respectively. This Easter, will be as easy as each over the last five years. I used to fill baskets with that grass (the kind that even at Christmas, despite of daily sweeping, for some reason a piece of the stuff is still around.) I put various candy in the basket, eggs and of course the big chocolate bunnies. As I said, it is easy now. They just want a basket filled with their favorite chocolate, and I now have the list memorized.

It’s nearly that time of the year again. Prom is coming up and it will be my youngest daughter’s Senior prom. She is of course excited about it. The dress has been picked out as well as the shoes, but of course that could change since they have not been bought yet. It’s a big year for my little girl and it’s also bittersweet. It seems like yesterday I was seeing her off on the school bus for her first day of school. I even remember what she wore, and of course how much I cried when the bus left. We’ll go shopping and looking for other dresses, and she’ll change her mind about shoes, how she wants her hair, and how she will be applying her make up. That is a given. It’s an important night for her. I’ll be dragged from dress shop to shoe shop, by both my oldest and youngest daughter, remembering when it was my oldest prom. Time goes by too quickly. This year I’m going to try not to cry, get plenty of photos, and not to worry a great deal about after prom. I feel old.

Since I collect dragonflies and they have very special meaning to my family and I, coming across dragonfly gifts online, made me very happy. I have never seen so many various designs and items with dragonflies on so many items. The variety is enough to please everyone, everyone’s price range and every age, of the lover or collector of such awesome creatures. I personally have never seen such a large and unique variety of dragonfly items. It’s mind boggling, to be honest. I spent hours making wish lists and also lists of items I wanted to buy for family members and a few friends. Looking through the dragonfly gifts pages brought back a memory that has been in the back of my mind. My family had once grown tired of me telling them little tidbits of information about these awesome creatures, but one of the stories I had read was an old American Indian (which is part of my heritage and race) belief about the meaning of seeing a dragonfly or a lot of dragonflies after a person passed away. It is said that it means the loved one who passed had gotten to their destination, and shows the length of time it took for them to arrive. No one really believed this story when I repeated it, so I left it be. When my Mother in Law passed, I was at home and her sons were at our family farm with her. She died peacefully. My husband called to tell me that mom had passed and said that twenty minutes later, there was a swarm of dragonflies so thick over our cornfield, that at first the brothers thought it was small birds, until they walked out to the field line. While I was on the telephone, I looked out into our back yard and there was a giant swarm of dragonflies in the sky out there also. I would not have seen them, had I not been at our house picking up the younger kids. I called our oldest daughter to tell her about her grandma, and she said she had looked out her bathroom window 15 min. before I called and said she saw swarms of dragonflies out back which surprised her since the sun was setting. I told her about the ones that had shown up out at the homestead and also my house. Neighbors indeed wondered where they were coming from and why only in our yards. It will be three years in May that my Mom in law has passed. Dragonflies carry a special place in the whole family’s hearts now. I’m thankful for finding dragonfly gifts, as I plan on buying a special item for all of the members of the family.

Today I took some time out and went shopping all by myself. Normally I don’t like to shop, unless it is online, but today I not only took my time looking at various items I need for the house and garden, but also for items that were just for me. Things I have been neglecting to buy, because the money seems to be needed for other uses and other people. I got into my cookie jar and put aside the vacation money, but I had taken a little bit I had saved, to spend on items I needed. While shopping I, like most mothers I know felt a bit guilty getting some things I could have went without, but lately I’ve been sort of under the weather mood wise, so I got some make up, my favorite perfume, and some face cream products I have used for years, but was running low on. I also enjoyed tea in a little shop that hardly anyone really notices unless they are patrons who have either found it by mistake, or word of mouth. I love the atmosphere there and also the owner. Brewing a good cup of tea the right way, is sort of a lost art. I myself find it very therapeutic in a calming sort of way. The little lady that owns the shop, makes an appoint to know everyone who comes to the shop. Likes, dislikes and also what hobbies or loves they have. She knows I love gardening, and gave me some seeds that had come from her own garden. I don’t know how she knew I would be in today, but it seems she always knows. She told me to plant the seeds in a place that was sunny and it was would be a surprise from her when I saw what comes up. I’m looking forward to summer!
