Saving on baby supplies with coupon codes

  • Posted on February 17, 2012 at 10:33 pm

Once again I’ve been turned on to a site that is a wealth of information on how coupon codes save on baby supplies. With two new babies coming into the family at nearly the same time if not at the same time, and the economy being as it is, everyone can use help when it comes to money matters, saving while shopping and in general getting awesome deals and great buys because of these coupon codes and sales that are offered.  I know the couple who happen to be both my niece and nephew, who are brother and sister, married to one an others  best friends, don’t have a whole lot of money just starting out. The girls want to work as long as they can, but also have to pay on school loans and other debts occurred in collage.

It is the same with the guys. They do indeed have good jobs, but babies are expensive. It tends to get a little…no very overwhelming cost wise, when having a new baby. I don’t know how young adults who are starting a family now a days could do it without smart shopping and using all the deals, sales and coupons and coupon codes, they could possibly find.

My sisters and I will be throwing the girl’s baby showers and we are going to take advantage of all the stores that offer the coupon codes and shop wisely, yet without getting cheap things that will break right away like most of the cheap items do. These codes from various stores will help immensely.  We plan on getting as much of a supply of diapers for the babies as we possibly can afford, since all of us ladies know that diapers are expensive and baby’s go through a lot of them in only one day. They of course need car seats, strollers, little onesies  (which I love) sleepers, and even cribs, new mattresses, bedding and then the extra things. I’d personally would like to make up two baskets, one for each of the moms, filled with things that new moms tend to forget. Like for instance, wee little nail clippers, Q-Tips, baby oil, corn starch and a shaker for it, since I am a firm believer in using corn starch for diaper rash. There are so many other items too. Soft baby wash clothes, lavender baby wash…helps with relaxing sleep before bedtime, baby lotion, plus more of the little items that are needed. The “big tradition” in the family is,  I always buy all of the new babies a gold baby ring and the moms a gold chain to wear the ring on.  I checked and there are also coupon codes from the store I get the rings from. I’m really starting to get excited about shopping!

Shopping for classic mailboxes

  • Posted on February 13, 2012 at 11:06 pm

Yes, I am still looking at mailboxes, and have found some perfect classic mailboxes that would good in the front of the house. It has to be by the road, and like I have posted before, mine have been hit or even taken down a lot of times in the winter, since people around here don’t slow down on our road like they are supposed to. I want a mailbox that is very sturdy but nice looking also, since my front yard is a sort of brick walkway, court yard that is also my gardens, where I grow my flowers of all kinds and my herbs.

I was looking at Keystone mail boxes, which are really nice and sturdy it seems. I like the packages they offer and it’s a good price. The rating on them is number one also, which is good to know. The one package I am looking at includes the post, which is mounted into the ground. That is how it would have to be, since the mailbox has to be out by the road.

Gaines mailboxes, also has accessories which are pretty cool. House numbers, which are actually called address plaques, that mount on the front of the house. That would be great. My old mailbox has the house number going down the front of  the post, on a metal piece that is supposed to be seen in the dark, but so many people miss the house or can’t find it, despite of that. I think if I had a larger address plaque on the house also, then people will see it. Plus it looks kind of classy

Shopping for jeans

  • Posted on February 3, 2012 at 5:31 pm

I can not for the life of me find jeans to fit. I like the straight leg style, but they only carry sizes that skip a number. For instance, sizes, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and so on. I happen to take a six junior. The fives are to small and the sevens are too big.

I’ve had this problem all of my life. I now weight about 108 lbs, and I’m 4’11″ shrinking in older age also. Finding nice jeans that I don’t have to roll up, is a mega problem. Cutting them off and hemming, looks funny to me. This is why I like the skinny jeans, with the tightness around the ankle. They sort of bunch up and fit me.

Shopping today was a waste of time, so perhaps I’ll go again tomorrow. Or, maybe I’ll either gain some weight, or loose some weight so I will fit in either a 5 or 7!

Simple birthday wishes

My grand daughter’s birthday is coming up and all she asked for was these fire balls. Bless her heart…it doesn’t take much to make her happy. I went up to the small store here in our little town and since I know the owner well, asked him if he would order a case of them. He did and only charged me his cost. He allowed me to save a great deal of money. I’m still going to buy my grand daughter something else, of course. I know though, she will be really thrilled with these.

A new laptop

  • Posted on January 27, 2012 at 1:48 pm

I need a new laptop if my son can’t fix the one that I have. It lags and skips for some reason when I try to catch the news, or watch a movie on it. Kicker is, I just got this one last year. It kind of ticks me off that even the sound only works some of the time. My son thinks it’s a loose wire.

If he can’t fix the problem with this laptop, I’ll have to get another one, which so soon after Christmas, is going to really drain my savings.

If I do have to get a new one though, I’m going to do some homework before I buy one. I want a good one and yet one that isn’t as pricey as the one I have. Knowing what I’m buying will help, and maybe I’ll learn a thing or two on the way. I work on the computer, so a laptop is a must for me since I go out of town every other week.
