My girlfriend Amy just moved to Cincinnati and needed a Cincinnati Attorney, to keep her affairs in order, and also go over the fine print on her contracts, will and any other legal issues. Since she moved there because of her job, she still doesn’t know very many people and was getting fairly exasperated talking to the people in her office, all of whom tried to be helpful, but also all had various “lawyer stories” to tell her. She is still keeping her lawyer up here, as she has her house leased out and he keeps an eye on her holdings here. When she came back for the holidays, she contacted her lawyer here, and asked her if she could recommend a good +1 Cincinnati Lawyer. Within a few days, she got the names of lawyers who were really fair and good at what they do. When she went back to Cincinnati she talked to four of the reccomended lawyers and now is really happy with the one she hired. In fact, she is more than happy. When she called me, she had a glowing report to tell me. Out of all the attorneys that she spoke with, she found that they were all qualified for her needs, but certain ones she didn’t “click” with. And one man only specialized in being a Cincinnati DUI Attorney. Since she doesn’t drink and never has, she of course didn’t need him. Still, she told me just in case anyone ever would ask her if she knew of one, she would give the person this lawyers name.

It seems that we are way too overloaded with cats around the house. Not inside, but outside. It’s a shame to say, but people keep dropping off cats and kittens here, and I then feel sorry for them, so of course I feel obligated to feed them. The local animal shelter is supposed to be a no kill shelter, and when I called for them to come get the cats, I was told that they were under funded and could not handle any more cats there. This is getting way out of hand, and there is no one to take these poor animals, even though I have advertised. I just don’t know what to do. People tell me not to feed them, but I’m not cruel like that. On the bright side, at least we don’t have mice.

I watched a news clip on Tots in Tiaras and was totally disgusted. I don’t believe in subjecting children to this in the first place, but this has instilled my thoughts even more. The clip was about a 2 year old being spray tanned. Not only is that bad enough, but it was being done since she was 11 months old, buy a man who is an auto body painter. The mother goes on about how the little girl really likes it, and all through this clip she is crying and trying to get away. When she finally does make a run for it, she is running through the shop and slips and falls right on her knees in what looks perhaps like water, but in a shop, one can’t be sure. All the time the little one is yelling and screaming, “Leave me alone”. This to me is abuse. Okay, so it’s my opinion indeed. But I’m not going to change my views on this. Hopefully the clip will show so ya’ll see it for yourself. Shame on those people.

I really feel for my friend who lives too far away from me for me to come visit. For the last couple of weeks we have talked on the phone a few times a day, because her teen age daughter is threatening to hurt herself or run away. This is stressful for everyone in the household and even the counselors at school are offering no help or advice. I told her to take these issues to her doctor. It’s totally necessary. Not only for the daughter’s own good but also for the rest of the family. It is always hard to make that kind of decision, of course. For the well being of my child though, I would make it in a heart beat. I’d rather leave it in the hands of professionals, than try and do what my friend is doing on her own because it just isn’t working. She of course is realizing this, even if it is hard, it’s for the best. Hopefully all will turn out well for my friend’s daughter. The pain and helplessness in her voice makes me so sad, but perhaps she will go over the links and info I sent her, and look into the kind of help that is needed.

My mom told me about a single mother who had three children all under preteen age, and was out of work, a home and any kind of shelter as the shelters are all filled up. There was a house that had been empty for a year, and did not have electricity, heat or running water. However, the man who owned the house, offered to let her stay there until she could get a job and at least some kind of assistance. They slept on mattresses on the floor and the landlord hooked up a generator in the kitchen to at least run a few lights, the heat and water for her and the children. They stayed there only one night, and when he went to check on them, all of them were on the mattresses as if asleep, but had died from carbon monoxide poisoning. It was due to hooking the generator up in the house. Their carbon monoxide levels were in the high 60′s range, which is nearly three times the amount that one can tolerate, I do believe. Of course one would think it would be a very stupid and dangerous thing to do, but an accident none the less. BUT, the owner of the house, found the four dead and instead of immediately calling 911, he took the generator out of the house and put it in his garage, then called the police. It’s not looking too good for him. My mom didn’t catch what the charges for this will be or is, but I’m going to try later tonight to find updates. This is terribly tragic and all because of the economy and a single mother can not get a break at all it seems. It pisses me off that the United States can help millions of people in other countries, but not help her own. Shame on us. Shame on the government. And yes…I’m staying on this bandwagon.
