I have this “thing” about a certain insurance company’s commercials. I love them. Actually, I really like some commercials. I know that it might be sort of a odd thing to like, but a person has to feel like I do on this subject. I love the glasses commercial where the lady calls her cat in, and a raccoon comes toddling into the house too! Without my glasses on, it’s no doubt something I would do! Some of these commercials are really creative, and I appreciate that!
This goes to far
I watched a news clip on Tots in Tiaras and was totally disgusted. I don’t believe in subjecting children to this in the first place, but this has instilled my thoughts even more. The clip was about a 2 year old being spray tanned. Not only is that bad enough, but it was being done since she was 11 months old, buy a man who is an auto body painter. The mother goes on about how the little girl really likes it, and all through this clip she is crying and trying to get away. When she finally does make a run for it, she is running through the shop and slips and falls right on her knees in what looks perhaps like water, but in a shop, one can’t be sure. All the time the little one is yelling and screaming, “Leave me alone”. This to me is abuse. Okay, so it’s my opinion indeed. But I’m not going to change my views on this. Hopefully the clip will show so ya’ll see it for yourself. Shame on those people.
Everyone is leaving me
Today is the kid’s last day of break from school. All of them are at friends for the day and night and the ole man has to work tonight, so I’m going to be all alone in the house except for the animals. To be honest, I’m not sure I like it. I mean, it’s way too quiet. Of course, my son downloaded a slew of movies onto my laptop for me, “In case you get bored, Mama”. I don’t want to go anywhere, too many drunks on the road on the weekends around here. So, I’ll no doubt take a hot bath, get into comfy jammies and have a movie fest. It might do me some good to be “Home Alone”… and no folks, he didn’t download THAT movie. LOL
The warlock
I see in the news ole Charlie Sheen is getting not cool results from his little impromptu tour. I had to laugh when he got booed in Detroit, all the while wearing a Tiger’s shirt. Also he got very mixed reviews and booed in NYC, even though there was a sign that said “No heckling allowed…bla..bla..bla.” Of course there was a short appearance of his, so called “Goddesses”. Can we spell, live in hookers? LOL! I just shake my head and figure, he is sinking his own ship and in a way it’s sad. I just wonder what the heck it’s going to pull next. I’m sure it will be something even more outrageous.
Paula Dean:Expert Chef
Authored by Greg Fletcher
I think one of the best chefs to watch on television is Paula Dean. She is such a genius and was able to make her success out of nothing. I love to see all of the baking recipes that Paula Dean offers up to audiences on her shows. She now has three shows on Food Network. She has been so successful in designing her own empire and has made millions of dollars. She even sells her own line of baked goods in stores throughout the country.
Overall, one of the best shows I watch on my Deals from directv is, “Paula’s Party.” I love watching this show for ideas on simple desserts to make for parties and cocktail events. As a lawyer, I am always hosting cocktail party’s at my home and always need to have plates of food out for the other attorneys. While one would think attorneys like only high class foods, the truth is that many of my colleagues prefer southern cooking that is filling. I am always sure to take some recipe ideas from Paula, before I set the menu for one of my cocktail parties. Whenever I use a recipe from Paula, I usually receive all sorts of compliments on it. I love cooking recipes made up from Paula, because she knows how to cater to the taste buds of all people!
