Out of school soon

  • Posted on May 19, 2012 at 2:12 pm

I can’t believe that in a couple more weeks, the kids will be out of school for the summer holiday. I know for them that they time dragged on and on. For me however, it went by quickly. We don’t really have any plans for the summer, because I no doubt am going to have my neck fixed and have to heal, as soon as they are out of school and no pressing matters develop. Hopefully, there won’t be.

I’m sure the kids will all have lots of plans and things they would like to do with their friends, instead of with the family. I have though, considered getting a new pool. The last one we had wasn’t set up properly, and the HUGH storm we had last year, took it no doubt, back to Kansas. I have to laugh about it, as if I thought long enough, I would once again bring up memories of just what a powerful storm that was, and that the pool is the least of the things that could have been blown away.

A new pool would not only be great for the kid, but for me as well. I love to go out after everyone is asleep and swim by myself. It’s so peaceful and relaxing since we live pretty much in the country. The pool I am looking at, also would be lawn or home improvement, as I’d love to landscape around it.

All Fools Day

  • Posted on April 1, 2012 at 1:21 am

My family knows that I really don’t like this day at all. I think they wait all year to come up with harmless pranks, instead of ones that they TELL me and I’d actually believe. To me, those are the cruel kind. I have a few friends that totally ban the day and get quite angry about people trying to prank and play jokes on them. One of my close friends went through some really nasty April Fools jokes in the past that she believed and the friends who did it, let her really cry and get hysterical before they told her it was just a joke. I won’t go into it, but believe me when I say it was a very bad joke to play on a person. Me? My family knows it has to be totally harmless and something so stupid that I would fall for. Quite frankly, that could be a whole lot of things they have to choose from. I fall for the same darn thing, a lot of times before the non blonde kicks in and I realize, “Hey..this has been tried before.” Unfortunately it’s usually after the fact.

Tonight I’M going to play the Joker. All of the family are asleep, and since I’m having a rather insomniac night, I know I’m up for the duration. I thought about a lot of  silly things to do, but I wanted something that would happen to at least one of my pranksters, first thing in the morning. Sooo…I took a rubber band, and wrapped it around the kitchen sink hose handle, so it says in spray position. Heh heh heh! I know that one of them will wake up and go into the kitchen, and turn on the water as soon as he or she wakes up. It’s a sure bet. They all do it. Someone is going to get a soaking right when they wake up! Considering my water pressure is excellent, I’m sure I’m going to hear a yell, or scream if it’s my daughter, then perhaps some swear words, I won’t be pleased about, but will let pass. It’s time to release the Jester/Joker out in me this year. They will never ever expect it!!!

Home Improvement

I have directv at home and I’ve been watching a lot of home improvement shows. I love that there are so many great programs on décor and redoing the backyard and everything like that because I’ve got this new house and I really want it to look good. Since I moved here I’ve been all about making this home somewhere I can be proud of, it is my first house afterall! I am so thankful the down real estate market has finally afforded me the possibility to buy a home that I can call my own. I love being a homeowner and though it’s a lot of responsibility I am really proud of myself for already making this place so great on the inside and I’m planning on having a housewarming party relatively soon to show off my work. My friends are impressed because I’m the first one of us to buy a home and you know, that feels good. It makes me feel like I’m happy I’ve done this well for myself by this young age.

Reality shows

I’m not a great fan of television, but tonight I did watch some reality shows my friend Lindsay recommend. Fashion Runway was one since I have an interest in sewing, just like she does. Okay, I’m hooked on this one. I have to laugh about it a bit, since I missed lots of episodes. I’m sure though, there will be reruns that I can watch. That silly woman gets me hooked on the strangest things. LOL!

Reality shows

I was never much for the reality shows that are on television, until I started watching shows like, Project Runway. Since I sew,  I found it very interesting because of the various challenges and the unbelievable deadlines the designers have to work under. It’s great to see what they can and can’t kick out that is indeed fashion worthy. I also like Heidi Klum. At first I didn’t, but then after watching her in some of her other shows that lately have been shown on television, she is really actually very humorous and fun. I’ve gotten a lot of fashion and sewing tips from that show also, so as long at it runs, I will watch. I’m hooked. LOL!
