Easter Bunny Blues

  • Posted on March 30, 2013 at 6:41 pm

Even though the kids and grands are nearly grown and sure don’t believe in the Easter Bunny anymore, I usually still fill baskets, hang a carrot (which in the middle of the night, I take big bunny size bites out of) to make it look like the Easter Bunny was there and loved his carrot snack. Heck, I even put a board down and sprinkled flour on it, then made bunny tracks in the past.

This year, with my daughter away and my son’s off doing their own thing, it makes it kind of sad in a way to me, to think of my kids all grown and no sign of any more little ones around the house again. Tomorrow, though I will go to Sunday Mass, will just be another day here. I tried to get the family together, but all had various other plans. Plus Spring Break starts and the guys have the next week filled up with their own agendas.

I thought about cooking a dinner in case anyone happened to be home, but for the first time in 35 years, I’ve decided not to go all out like I used to. I’m kind of sad that the family won’t be together and that the grands don’t get into the Easter Bunny stuff, but I’ll survive it. Next year I just may take my own Spring Break vacation.

Recording first Music CD

  • Posted on March 22, 2013 at 3:06 pm

My sons and their band will be going Saturday to a real recording studio to record music my oldest son has written and the band preforms. They are so “stoked” as they call it. I would take that to mean they are super excited about this project.

My brother in law set the recording session up with a friend of his, who has in the past recorded many famous and semi famous singers and bands. My brother in law himself is in a popular band and they play shows all over the US. This is indeed a good experience for my son’s and their band members. Even though the music they play is a more very heavy metal, it’s great that this man recording is more than willing to help them out.

My guys have been practicing the songs and music that they want recorded and it’s taken all of their time. I figure as long as my youngest son’s grades don’t suffer, it’s fine. Bring on the music. I can’t wait to hear about their experience when they come home from the recording session!

Happy Valentines Day With My Kids

  • Posted on February 14, 2013 at 8:29 pm

Every year I get my kids a bag of their favorite candy and a card for Valentines Day that reminds me of each on of them and says exactly what I tell them all the time, only in card form for this day. It’s sort of a tradition, since we really think every day should be Valentines Day for the ones we love. Still, I hope you all have had a nice day with loved ones!

Finally good gummy vitamins for both kids and adults

  • Posted on February 8, 2013 at 10:06 pm

Of course when I go internet shopping, I look for everything that is relevant for my self, my family and my home and since a friend had told me about vitamins at SmartyPants, I wanted to look up the advantages and information. I personally can’t tell you what to think of this, but for me to not to have to take vitamins that are hard to swallow, well.. I’m all for it. The perks are they are designed to be for both adults and children. This to me is good news.  Not to mention more than just the essential vitamins. Much better than taking a bunch of others, I’d say. Course, it’s just my opinion.

My daughter had called me and asked what kind of vitamins I had given to her and her siblings and then she turned me on to this site that tells all abut what she is considering buying herself and her family. As one can see, it indeed is an informative side and also doesn’t pull any sales punches. I’ll tell you, between my grand daughter, daughter and I, we’ll be trying out the vitamins. I do not like taking vitamins as they are hard to swallow. I’d rather chew gummy vitamins that taste great and have the vitamin coverage we need, and I’d be happy about it. Even the gum drops that are fun looking and healthy!

So, truth be known I think I would actually try these… I’m still stuck on the gummy drops!  I know my grand daughter will be game for it too!

The need for cheap textbooks

  • Posted on January 24, 2013 at 4:57 pm

With my kids all either in collage or figuring out which collage they want to tour and then eventually attend, I know it’s going to be hard financially on both them and me, but if we can find cheap textbooks, this indeed will be a plus. They have already told me that of course they want to get either used or cheap text books and then with the money that is saved, they can buy the new ones they will need without having to worry too much about the cost.

Checking textbook price comparison, there is such a wide range of prices, but one that fits nearly every students budget, if they have to work and put themselves though school. I’m fortunate that my kids have applied for grants, earned grants and also have been applying for inexpensive loans, but it is totally sort of defeating as a parent to realize that on our income, sending three kids to collage back to back, is so totally expensive.

With every penny counting, it is reassuring to know that there are indeed cheap textbooks to be had at a reasonable price, for students who are seriously interested in furthering their education. That kind of help, makes so much a difference and lessens the financial burden a bit more.
