Home Improvement

I have directv at home and I’ve been watching a lot of home improvement shows. I love that there are so many great programs on décor and redoing the backyard and everything like that because I’ve got this new house and I really want it to look good. Since I moved here I’ve been all about making this home somewhere I can be proud of, it is my first house afterall! I am so thankful the down real estate market has finally afforded me the possibility to buy a home that I can call my own. I love being a homeowner and though it’s a lot of responsibility I am really proud of myself for already making this place so great on the inside and I’m planning on having a housewarming party relatively soon to show off my work. My friends are impressed because I’m the first one of us to buy a home and you know, that feels good. It makes me feel like I’m happy I’ve done this well for myself by this young age.

He loves his games

My youngest son is really into playing video games and once in awhile he calls me into his room to watch him play. He is amazing. Actually more than amazing at his ability for playing them. I don’t care if he plays, as long as his school work is done, his grades are up and he does his chores around the house or when I ask him to help me with something, he doesn’t argue with me. At 14, anyone that has kids that age, know they indeed love to argue. For Christmas, games are what he asks for. He plays the really difficult ones on line sometimes, but has a lot of the DVD’s also. When I watch, I can’t believe how totally realistic they are and how good he is at playing them and winning.

He has had his name in game magazines for his outstanding scores, and even is thinking about designing them once day. I personally love his goals and it would be challenging but also fun for him, so he wouldn’t get bored with his choice of career.

Sometimes he will get his DVD games at this shop we have in town, but has found that if he goes online, he can save some money and also there is a wider selection to choose from he tells me. I’ve tried to play games with him, but I’m not fast enough, nor coordinated enough to use the controllers and the buttons get really confusing. Guess I’ll leave it up to the kids to have this kind of entertainment. I’m not cut out for it.

This goes to far

I watched a news clip on Tots in Tiaras and was totally disgusted. I don’t believe in subjecting children to this in the first place, but this has instilled my thoughts even more. The clip was about a 2 year old being spray tanned. Not only is that bad enough, but it was being done since she was 11 months old, buy a man who is an auto body painter. The mother goes on about how the little girl really likes it, and all through this clip she is crying and trying to get away. When she finally does make a run for it, she is running through the shop and slips and falls right on her knees in what looks perhaps like water, but in a shop, one can’t be sure. All the time the little one is yelling and screaming, “Leave me alone”. This to me is abuse. Okay, so it’s my opinion indeed. But I’m not going to change my views on this. Hopefully the clip will show so ya’ll see it for yourself. Shame on those people.

Severe thunder storms or tornado?

The skies are getting dark and it’s starting to sprinkle. The weather channel is calling for severe storms with big hail and possibly 60mph winds. Also, and this is the scary part…possible tornadoes. I was in touch with a few of my blogging buddies and they are to get the same weather it seems. I’m hoping for a nice long rain, but the way the weather has been all over, well…expect the worse yet hope for the best. Not sure if that saying is in that sequence, but it’s the same either way you read it. Not very good for peace of mind though. (deep sigh)

The Casey Anthony trial.

I have been sort of following the Casey Anthony trial and to be honest, generally I don’t voice my opinion about such things in pubic. I keep it to myself, even if I am asked. But in this case, I truly hope she gets at the least, life. On the flip side, I don’t think it all is going to be or turn out the way most think or are thinking it will. I have a feeling she is going to be found (unfortunately) not guilty. It is all a matter of everyone blaming everyone else and from what it sounds like, a massive bunch of cover ups and lies. I so feel for that poor defenseless little girl though. She didn’t deserve to die and it will be a damn shame if this so called mother doesn’t get what she deserves. Enough said by me. The whole situation and case makes me sick to my stomach.
