Garage storage space

  • Posted on January 8, 2012 at 7:41 pm

Today I had to go into my husbands garage to find some tools I needed. It is a total mess. His birthday is coming up and I’ve decided to buy him garage storage cabinets. I don’t know how he finds anything in that garage. He says he knows where everything is, but I seriously doubt if he really does. The kids go in to find something they ask to use, he tells them where to find it and it’s not there. Poor kids spend a great deal of time trying to find anything in there. I think my husband does also.

He has commented at times that he would love some steel storage cabinets to put his valuable tools in, even though he has some really nice tool chests. They are jam packed though, and he does indeed need more room to store things. The garage is his domain, but I think it would be so much easier for him to work in there if there were some kind of organization.

Garage cabinets are exactly, in my opinion what he needs. I think he is a hoarder when it comes to his garage, but I’m not going to tell him that, since it IS  his garage. He doesn’t tell me what to do with my kitchen. I think if I bought these for him though, he would like a gift like that.

Headway on the gardens

  • Posted on September 24, 2011 at 8:40 am

My gardens are nearly ready for their winter sleep, and I’ve been making plans for next Spring. Some of the ideas I’ve mumbled out loud to my husband, who just looks at me in this sort odd and “what ever you want, dear” way, then pats me on the head and goes on about his business. I hate being patted on the head, but being only 4’10″ I guess I’m a prime target. Oh well, the plans are coming together and though they may be different to some people, it’s my yard and if I’m happy with it, well…that is what counts!! :)

Up coming wedding

With the up and coming wedding in the family,  and of course it’s being held in Toledo, our home town, we are pretty fortunate that it’s been  relatively  sooth sailing so far for the most part. My sister and the maid of honor looked up Wedding Florists Toledo, and  has  gotten some good results so they say. I’m so glad. This time of year, it seems everyone is getting married in these months. Maybe it’s because for once, the weather is okay. Though it has been really hot, we can’t complain a all, compared to other States who have had the fall out and storms from Irene. We’ve had our share of storms and rather unpredictable weather, but nothing like it could have been, even with the lakes.

I happen to love Toledo. As everyone knows I go “home” or try to, every weekend, but certainly every other weekend if I can, and I never have a problem finding services of any sort that we don’t have here. To me, flowers are my passion in my gardens and life, but indeed in a wedding they make up a great deal of the whole celebration because flowers are important to all of my family’s lives. I think Mom had lots to do with that and she suggested Toledo wedding florists, since they could be found right there in our hometown.

We’re all looking forward to this wedding. I’ve never seen or met a couple so right for one another, and after seven years I do believe they know what is right for them. By checking out wedding flowers in Toledo, it will make things even more less complicated I believe, then trying to hunt down some others and them not being in the local area. It’s just my opinion, as I think a wedding should be less of a hassle than what some people make of it all. All the preparations are zoned into our home town to do this in the first place, and we are all looking forward to this special occasion so very much!

Hang it up!

With school starting again and me not only trying to organize the house and clutter, I need something besides the refrigerator so I can  find important school information, schedules and appointments. Also I need to replace two enclosed cork bulletin boards my sons accidentally broke while moving furniture in their bedroom. One held all my youngest son’s track awards and medals, and the other held my oldest sons graduation photos,  a copy of his diploma and other memorabilia. I’ve found that enclosed bulletin boards are excellent for this.

I’ve been trying to get my daughter to clean her room all summer. She at least keeps it clean when school is in session, but she has so much stuff that needs organized, hung up and put into albums, that it’s unreal. If she will take down some of the posters and things she has hung on the walls, I told her I would get her a few enclosed fabric bulletin boards for the important items she wanted on display. It would make use of the wall space and the room would be less cluttered.

All in all, the kids like this idea and since we live right by a grain mill, no matter what we do, dust filters into the house because of it,  and the farm trucks that go by the house. These will keep their achievements and memories clean. I could use some for myself, if truth be known.

A Doctors Call

  • Posted on August 4, 2011 at 3:45 am

The doctor’s office called today and I was told told that the results of my lab work were in. It seems my sodium is low and my potassium levels are too high. I need to go into the office in the morning. This is something I’m not looking forward to doing at all. I’m in the middle of tearing my bedroom apart and putting it all back together much more neatly with some space saving devices I found. I hate getting into a project and then wanting to finish it the next day, only to have to put it on hold for a bit. I know (hopefully) the doctor visit won’t last too long, but am wondering if my energy will be the same as it was today. I did however get lots done and it’s starting to look great!!
