Using travel agents to visit Kenya

  • Posted on May 15, 2012 at 9:39 am

Lately, I’ve been talking to Kenya travel agents to find out more of the place I may go to visit. I’d really love to go, as my dear friend Kirsty lives near there, and she has given me an open invitation to come to Africa whenever it is possible for me to get away for a week. I think it would be totally awesome to go to visit, and perhaps go on a safari tour, or just go to the little shops and see what kind of pretty and unique things I can find while shopping.

My friend and I met online 14 years ago, in a group that basically showed other members where we lived, and our lifestyles. It has since changed and we no longer have that group online. After Kirsty and I “met” in the group, she and a few other members decided to come visit me in my farm life community, since most of the ladies (there were 6) were basically city people.

Kirsty told me about her homeland and showed me recent photos of her new home. Her surroundings are beautiful. She also mentioned looking on the internet for Kenya travel agents who could set up tours, shopping sprees, and accommodations during my visit. I think that would be the way to do things, so I can make the most of my vacation, and see and do what I really want to do. Going to visit another Country and being out of my own Country is strange to me, but also exciting and fun.

Severe thunder storms

Generally I’m not really afraid of storms, but this one that is supposed to hit from the NW, is starting to look a bit scary. It’s really dark and there is a change of tornadoes. Course, around these parts there is always a chance of these.

I’ve got all my little survival things gathered as a just in case and bought lamp oil and extra wicks for my lamps. I’ve got and always have lots of candles, and I want to thank my Mom for the gas stove she gave me. If the power goes out, at least I can cook, so that is helpful.

I have to get a hold of a good roofer, since yesterday I noticed that there were some shingles off of the roof. We don’t need a leaking roof and ceiling, so I’m calling in the pros. This weather is so strange. Even though the sun keeps trying to shine, the weather people are insisting that we are going to get hit with a big one. Sometimes I wonder what the television forecasters actually do know about the weather or if they just are guessing.

Accurate court reporting

I was told that there are Court Reporting Services that a person can hire to basically record all of what is said and what goes on in a court room. It’s an accurate account of what is happening so it is all on paper,  one needs it as a case goes on. If it’s a lengthy case, or if it is a case that gets confusing to a lay person, at least there is a service that will have a report and record of what has gone on and then facts can be brought up, that normally in some cases a person would forget what actually had been said.

I think the deposition services are a good idea. Making sure that everything goes smoothly and also saves a person time and money and the hassle of getting all the information by themselves. I would love to have this service for my daughter, who is in the middle of a very big and also nasty divorce. It wouldn’t be needed, but her husband owns a very large corporation and they have been married for 20 years. My daughter needs to know what is happening and legal terms. More so than her lawyer is helping with at this time.

I hope I never have to use a court reporting service, but it is nice to know that this service exists, and it’s a professional and accurate service.

For the future

It’s really strange. Ever since I got ill, (but believe me, I am still kicking) everyone keeps telling me to get my investments in order. I admit that  I’ve been really lax about it all. I don’t feel old, though I’m getting there, and to me right now, it’s a hassle that I actually know has to be done. Not only for me, but the family. They have not a clue of what my plans for retirement are, but some friends do, and one of them suggested that I get a do it yourself portfolio management. I know I need to do something, and if I had some kind of guidelines, I know it would help a lot. Especially now that I need to prepare for the future, as to be honest, I’m a touch scared that if something happened to me, no one would know what assets I have, as I am bad at managing things by myself, I have to admit.

The way I figure it, if I were to get something like an online portfolio manager, basically things could be taken care of, especially the stuff that I have no clue as what to do with. Lets face it, despite of my investments, I know I have to do something to know what is going on with them. My one aunt is on me all the time about this issue. She knows I’m on the computer for a great deal of time and even suggested online portfolio balancing manager. That would no doubt be good for me.

I’m going to do some research and find out if I can do what was suggested to me. We’ll see what happens. In any case I know I have to prepare for retirement and the fact that indeed I need some help with these kinds of issues.

Looking for a house

  • Posted on August 11, 2011 at 3:14 am

My friend Amy lives in Texas and wants to move, so she is looking at Dallas homes for sale, since that is the area she would really like to live in. A lot has to do with finding a job. Where she is living right now, there are literally no jobs available that fit her line of work. Also she has family in that part of Texas and would like to move closer to them, now that her father is getting older. She also wants to see more of her nieces and nephews.

Amy has told me that looking for Dallas Real Estate isn’t as hard as she thought it would be,  as she has been using a great service and they are helping her find exactly what she is looking for to suit her needs. She is tired of renting because she has three dogs she loves dearly and it’s hard to find a house or large apartment to rent that accepts animals, let alone three rowdy dogs. She also has been boarding her horse, and would like to find a house with some acreage large enough to have her horse with her on her own property.

I’ve also been online looking for Dallas homes for sale that I think she may like to look at, which actually I am the one that likes, but she appreciates the input. I think I may have some selfish reasons to though. I love going to visit her and wouldn’t mind living in that area one day either!
