Understanding Planet Earth

I found a great website this morning called LiveScience.com.  Everything from Technology, History, Space, and Animals were written about in interesting articles.  One article in particular that caught my attention was called “Scientist Get Closer to Center of the Earth.”  It amazes me how our technology is so advanced that we are capable of reaching the center of the earth.

One point that was made in this article stated that it’s difficult finding the center of the earth, because the earth is not a completely solid, round object.  Isaac Newton had made this point years ago.  One reason scientist are hoping to get to the center or the earth include, but is not limited to, finding out about earthquakes, volcanoes, and global warming.  Scientist are working day and night to be better able to understand the planet and to make our world a safer place to live.
